To wrap up a great week of Saskatoon Welcoming Week 2024 activities, come and join us at Gordie Howe Sports Complex and see why football is so popular among Saskatchewan residents
Come and cheer on the Saskatoon Hilltops, 23 Time National Champions, most recently in 2023, as they play their rival the Edmonton Wildcats at the Hilltops- Kinsmen Family Game Day. The game starts at 1:00 pm but come early and enjoy the kid activities (face painting, jumpy toys, superhero characters, and lots to do and see for the whole family. Football plays an important role in Saskatchewan’s autumn schedule, and you can learn more about the game and why we are all “Toppers”.
Football and soccer refer to the same sport in most parts of the world, where players kick a ball to score goals. However, in the United States and Canada, “football” typically refers to American or Canadian football, a different sport where players carry or pass an oval-shaped ball to score touchdowns. “Soccer” is the term used in these countries to distinguish the globally popular game of football, played with a round ball.
